Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper, starting from a theoretical framework, is to analyze the spillover effects of human capital brought by labor mobility and their influence on the public education investment.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on the endogenous growth theory, the paper establishes a regional human capital spillover model to examine the spillover effects of human capital coming along with the regional labor mobility and the changes of public education investment decision brought by the spillover effects in China.
Findings
It has been found that the regional mobility of labor has made the developed areas gain the spillover benefits of human capital investment from the underdeveloped areas with their superiority of social and economic environment and restrained the incentives for public education investment in the underdeveloped areas, thus the different areas walk on a different growth path, with the expansion of the difference in the economic and education investment growth.
Originality/value
This paper analyzes the possible influences from the spillover of human capital on the economic growth and educational investment and finds a high possibility for the underdeveloped areas to get into a “low development trap” of education investment. The key to solving the problem is to internalize the externalities by the active public policy, in order to realize equal education, rational investment and balanced development.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of Confucianism on auditor changes by highlighting the role of the cultural embeddedness mechanism in audit contracts from the perspective of credit governance.
Design/methodology/approach
Using a unique sample of Chinese A-share listed firms from 2008 to 2018, this study uses logit regression as the baseline methodology while controlling for macro-level factors and firm-level characteristics, as well as industry and year fixed effects. This study also conducts different mediation/channel analyses, endogeneity tests (using two-stage least squares and difference-in-differences techniques) and robustness checks.
Findings
The findings show that the embeddedness of Confucianism in a corporation reduces auditor changes. Furthermore, the channel analyses (using moral self-discipline, social trust, professional ethics and the quality of accounting information as four potential channels) reveal that Confucianism can improve moral credit and consolidate the cultural foundation of credit governance. Specifically, the stronger the embeddedness of Confucianism, the more stable the auditing contract. Finally, Confucianism in formal and informal systems can be mutually substituted.
Originality/value
There is limited research on how culture affects auditing contracts. This study offers new contributions and extends the literature on the connection between cultural embeddedness and contract stability. Confucianism has the potential to strengthen the efficiency of credit governance and maintain the stability of contracts. This study offers a thoughtful orientation toward duly using Confucianism vis-à-vis credit governance.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to present a novel guidance law for hypervelocity descent to a stationary target such that the impact angle and impact velocity can be constrained.
Design/methodology/approach
The proposed method is based on inverse dynamics and is designed using a third-order Bézier curve approximation to the reference trajectory.
Findings
Simulations indicate that the proposed law is able to satisfy impact angle and impact velocity constraints as well as follow control and path limitations in the case of guidance under perturbations. Comparisons with other methods also indicate better performance.
Research limitations/implications
The onboard implementation requires an offline selection of Bézier parameters.
Practical implications
The presented scheme could be extremely important for further research on automated onboard control of impact angle and velocity for both re-entry and terminal guidance laws.
Originality/value
This paper presents an innovative method for the solution of an inverse dynamics-based guidance law using Bézier curve approximation.

The purpose of this paper is to synthesize a series of cyclophosphazene derivatives with better tribological properties.
Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to synthesize a series of cyclophosphazene derivatives with better tribological properties.
Design/methodology/approach
To improve the adsorptivity to substrate, a series of cyclophosphazene derivatives substituted with ionic liquids were synthesized. The lubricity characteristics of phosphazene derivatives were evaluated on an Optimol SRV IV oscillating friction and wear tester. Scanning electron microscope and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscope analyses were conducted to examine the morphology and chemical composition of the wear scars and the possible tribochemical changes involved in the friction process.
Findings
Alkoxycyclophosphazene derivatives substituted with ionic liquids synthesized in the present work show better antiwear ability and load‐carrying capacity in steel‐steel contacts. The density of ion pairs plays an important role on tribological properties.
Research limitations/implications
The paper deals with only a limited compounds and steel‐steel contacts. The paper works on the subject progressively to explore more combinations for better tribological properties.
Practical implications
All the cyclophosphazene derivatives present better tribological performance and could be used as base oils, such as hard disk surface lubricants.
Originality/value
Ionic liquids are introduced to cyclophosphazene derivatives in this paper. This is a new method to improve the tribological properties of cyclophosphazene derivatives.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to develop a system dynamics (SD) model to identify causal relationships among the elements of failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), i.e. failure modes, effects and causes.
Design/methodology/approach
A causal loop diagram (CLD) has been developed based on the results obtained from interdependencies and correlations analysis among the FMEA elements through applying the integrated approach of FMEA-quality function deployment (QFD) developed by Shaker et al. (2019). The proposed model was examined in a steel manufacturing company to identify and model the causes and effects relationships among failure modes, effects and causes of a roller-transmission system.
Findings
Findings indicated interactions among the most significant failure modes, effects and causes. Moreover, corrective actions defined to eliminate or relieve critical failure causes. Consequently, production costs decreased, and the production rate increased due to eliminated/decreased failure modes.
Practical implications
The application of CLD illustrates causal relationships among FMEA elements in a more effective way and results in a more precise recognition of the root causes of the potential failure modes and their easy elimination/decrease. Therefore, applying the proposed approach leads to a better analysis of the interactions among FMEA elements, decreased system's failure rate and increased system availability.
Originality/value
The literature review indicated a few studies on the application of SD methodology in the maintenance area, and no study was performed on the causal interactions among FMEA elements through an FMEA-QFD based SD approach. Although the interactions of these elements are significant and helpful in risks ranking, researchers fail to investigate them sufficiently.

Abstract
Purpose
Green Public Procurement (GPP) has recently gained attention in the academic and policy arenas since climate change has uncovered the need to be addressed by both private companies and public entities. Because of this growing interest this study aims to explore the most influential journals, publishers, categories, topics and therecent trends and future research lines in GPP.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on the Web of Science database, 1,008 articles from 1990 to November 2023 devoted to GPP are analysed by using Bibliometrix, an R-tool to perform bibliometric analysis.
Findings
This study introduces the following findings. The most influential journals by far are Journal of Cleaner Production and Sustainability, differing in that the latter is open access (OA) while the former publishes through traditional subscription (TS). This result also occurs regarding the main publishers (Elsevier and MDPI).
Social implications
GPP is a political commitment that contributes to improving the efficiency of the economies and that has aroused the interest of the scientific community. The paper can provide important insights for GPPs formulation in the areas of procurements and literacy.
Originality/value
The paper leads a debate on the opportunities or threats that the OA journals present for the dissemination of scientific knowledge of GPP, compared to TS publications in the same field.
